The other day
Riding the bus
Strange woman
Evil looking
Talking
Through widened eyes
Every breath struggled
Suffocating
Snorting—
Cussing
Threatening
Louder
Louder(Stop!)—
Because a child is crying
(-Other people's children-)
She talks of beating
Innocent
Helpless
Children
This broken sinused
slight of a woman—
I could snap her like a twig
But must forgive
As He would
Thank Heavens
Mine
Is the next stop

It can get a little scary at times riding the bus. I drove a city bus for 28 years and think I have heard and seen just about anything you can imagine.
Have a good day.
I can certainly relate to that poem. So many times I've prayed that mine is the next stop. Other times I've exited the bus before my stop due to these situations. Great post.
Michele,
You have an award waiting for you at: http://reachbeyondlimits.blogspot.com/2009/05/thank-you-and-passing-them-on.html
A different kind of poetry. If there is such thing as a mystery and suspense poetry, this is it. It is riveting like any suspense thriller. Thanks for the novel poetry. God bless.
Grampy: I'll bet you've seen a good bit. :)
Jo: Thanks!
Icy: Thanks! I will get to them soon, promise.
Mel: The style could be considered as dramatic poetry or poetic drama, but more appropriately closet drama. Perhaps to be compared to a modern Shelley or Byron.
This is not the way I usually write and that is why this is something different, but I do feel that it is something different anyway. When I write prose, I tend to lean toward the dramatic, but usually never to this degree. In recent works I have leaned more toward the sonnet or to prose with a generally softer approach.
I have been feeling differently about my writing ever since I started feeling uneasy in that other place that I was blogging[read post]. Other changes in my life have also created a lot of unnecessary, unwanted and unwarranted drama.
I'm not so sure that this is something that I will continue, but you are right, and it's referred to as dramatic poetry, but it is also prose. Perhaps I will post on the poetic style soon.
Thanks for your comments and visiting. :)
